From the bevy of free educational courses and amateur resources found within the Online Education Center to creating a higher standard for coaches in communities around the country through the Baseball ACE program, the ADI aims to provide as much valuable information to the constituents of the game as possible. Athletes, Parents, Coaches, and Umpires alike can find the valuable information they need to succeed on and off the field through the many offerings of the ADI in conjunction with the USA Baseball Sport Development team.

Online Education Center
USA Baseball Sport Development’s Online Education Center provides online training courses and programs focused on key aspects of the game of baseball. Emphasizing a culture of development, safety, and fun within the sport, the OEC is home to FREE online training courses and programs for players, parents, coaches, and umpires. The USA Baseball Online Education Center also aims to continue to enhance the game of baseball for all constituents by housing the Long-Term Athlete Development Plan, Mobile Coach app, and Development Blob. Content is offered in both English and Spanish.
Mobile Coach App
The USA Baseball Mobile Coach application, which is free to all users, features the ability for baseball coaches at all levels to plan practices using drills supplied in the application through the practice planning function. The application is available through the Apple and Android application stores, as well as online.
Long-Term Athlete Development Plan
A long-term athlete development plan (LTAD) is a multi-stage training and recovery pathway that guides an individual’s experience in sport and physical activity through all developmental phases from infancy to adulthood. The USA Baseball Spor Development LTAD provides a framework for systematically developing sporting excellence and increasing active participation in local, regional, and national sports organizations.
Baseball ACE is an educational program for any and all individuals who are currently coaching baseball or aspire to coach at any level of the game. The program, offered in partnership by USA Baseball and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) aims to create a higher standard of coaching education and enhance the ability of coaches to better serve their athletes, their team, and the communities. Baseball ACE aspires to create a culture of continuing education, professional development, and active mentorship among the coaching community, and is for all members of the baseball coaching community, regardless of age, level, or experience.
Pitch Smart provides a comprehensive resource for safe pitching practices, offering a series of practical, age-appropriate guidelines to help players, parents, and coaches avoid overuse injuries and foster long, healthy careers. The program was created by an advisory committee comprised of arm care professionals, such as Dr. James Andrews. Content is offered in both English and Spanish.
Hit and Run
MLB Hit and Run Baseball Hit and Run Baseball is a joint initiative between Major League Baseball (MLB) and USA Baseball that provides guidelines for fun, new ways to engage youth baseball players in formal, competitive play. The program will serve youth leagues, tournament providers, and amateur coaches by providing game modification recommendations focused on pace of play and additional skill-building opportunities for athletes designed to occur more frequently than traditional gameplay exposures. The recommended modifications serve as supplementary tools to training, practices, exhibitions, and formal gameplay.
